My sound combines elements of classic Housemusic with reckless rhythms and floating basslines produced in a nonorthodox manner.
The result is a dirty mixture of House, Disco and Hip Hop not solely Dancefloor orientated. Smooth and deep elements frequently confront with raw and danceable parts, a fact that gives the result a special blend, ready for the club and living room as well.
One will not recognize a certain complexity behind most of the tracks. Dozens of cutted mini-samples flow together into a completely new composition. Characteristic is also the layering of tracks: You normally won't hear one basedrum, sample, clap or hihat but up to five at once.
The music always oszillates between complexity & simplicity.
I produced my first Housetracks in 1995. From this point my production skills developed automatically from year to year, the analogously growing homestudio gave me freedom for experimentation and set the cornerstones for my current style.
After 3 years of averse abstinence from producing, I started making music in 2005 again, now with a deeper focus on subtle sampling and less bound to one specific style. In mid-2007 I presented first results to the public. Since then my tracks & remixes get clubplay by countless international DJ big names.
My debut, the Raw Shade EP on Chordiance marks my way into public. Though not available on the bigger portals and not promoted at all it received some great feedback but sold quite bad.
Soon after that 2 tracks namely "Metro Tendencies" and "Stiletto" appeared on the well known Milanese label Gotta Keep Faith in 2009 (under my "Duoswing" moniker). The Metro Tendencies EP contains mixes by DJ Romain from NY, Spiritual Blessings, Questionmarq and received massive feedback and plays within the scene by the means of Jimpster, Davidson Ospina, etc...
2010 will see a remix for Chez Damier on Mojuba Records Berlin + several releases & remixes on my own label Motivic Records.
While listening to all forms of music from Hip Hop to Jazz, Soul and Disco I always had a weakness for House imports from labels such as Henry Street, Wake Up, Dust Traxx, Harmonie Park or Undaground Therapy. Fact is, that I wouldn`t have discovered genres like Soul, Disco or Funk in depth without that thing called Housemusic. My addiction for soulful, rare and classic dancemusic harmonizes full well with the final musical output.
Beside classic DJ`s and artists from the disco era like Larry Levan, Patrick Adams and Gregory Carmichael, more recent artists such as Kerri Chandler, Stacy Kidd, Todd Edwards, Terrence Parker and Hip Hop grandmasters Ugly Duckling, the Wu Tang Clan and Dj Premier influenced my musical way.
Other influences apart from music include sports, automobiles, literature, design and art in general.
So, get to know my dirty, vitalized interpretation of modern dancemusic.
